Listing Description
Based in the heart of the Lake District, Castlerigg Manor, Lancaster Diocese’s residential retreat centre, welcomes young people all year round, and supports them to discover and grow in faith.
Living in community at Castlerigg Manor, gap-year volunteers work alongside permanent staff delivering retreats, mainly for secondary school groups. Volunteers are given support and training to lead sessions, workshops and prayers, and in particular to spend time sharing their faith with the young people with whom we work. Offering hospitality to all of our visitors is important and volunteers share in this, welcoming guests and, on a rota, serving meals and washing up.
As a community we make a commitment to praying and living together, supporting each other, and growing in faith. This extends beyond working together to daily prayers, sharing meals and regular community times.
