Working as a Gap Year Team Member with the Youth Ministry Team will give you the opportunity to live a community lifestyle and minister both to each other and to all the young people in the diocese you will meet during the programme.
During your gap year you would be participating in school missions, residential retreats at the Emmaus Youth Village, which will also be your home, and other events organised by YMT, such as summer festivals, The Source, Confirmation programmes, youth conferences, and fundraising events.
Your responsibility includes participating in all training programmes, challenging yourself to live in service with each other and to be a witness to the ministry, planning and delivering programmes, and facilitating and organizing activities involving prayer and reflection, small group and big group activities, and outdoor games.
We are looking for a mature young adult (18+) who is passionate about making the Gospel relevant to young people through Youth Ministry, with good interpersonal skills, energetic, enthusiastic, and willing to serve others. You must be open to learn and grow in faith, a team player and able to cope within a fast-paced working environment. It is essential that you are self-driven, take initiative and can work within a diverse team putting service at the heart of community living.
